Who we are

Navajyothi Centre for Child Behavioral Sciences is the Child and Adolescent wing of Kusumagiri Mental Health Centre which is dealing with the Behavioral Problems and Mental health of Children. It is an exclusive set up for children and young people. Children are usually referred to this centre for assessment and management of emotional and behavioral problems, poor scholastic performance and developmental difficulties. Navajyothi aims at helping children with developmental disorders, Attention deficient hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Eating Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, substances abuse etc. The diligent performance of our multidisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, and therapists etc are building hope and expectation in many families.

History

A wing for childhood and adolescent mental health functioning since 1986 under the Kusumagiri Mental Health Society as Navajyothi Centre for Child Behavioural Sciences. The Centre offers preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and academic services for all psychiatric, psychological, behavioral and educational problems of children. Different services providing from this centre are Psychological & Psychiatric assessment and management, Pharmacological management, Individual Psychotherapy, Family therapy, Occupational therapy, Remedial training and Speech therapy. Realizing the need, Navajyothi autism project was started in 2000 for detection, intervention and rehabilitation measures for children with autism.
